Chiara Caselli

Chiara Caselli’s artistic practice is a dialogue between materiality and instinct, structure and spontaneity. Her collaboration with artist Francesco Carrasso under the alias CCONTINUA+MAMT is a meeting point of their individual sensibilities — Chiara’s architectural precision and deep engagement with ceramics merging with Francesco’s raw, figurative language rooted in urban landscapes and graffiti culture. Together, their work reimagines ancestral narratives and primal storytelling, translating them into contemporary visual forms through ceramics, paintings, and mixed media.

Chiara, born in Sassuolo — a center of Italian ceramic heritage — approaches clay as a medium of ritual and daily life. Her practice is deeply rooted in an exploration of material, seeking a balance between the organic textures of raw clay and the polished surfaces of glazed ceramics. With an architectural background, her creations are informed by precision, repetition, and an intuitive dialogue with the material, transforming functional objects into contemporary amulets that invite a deeper awareness of everyday gestures.

Through CCONTINUA+MAMT, Chiara and Francesco push the boundaries of ceramics by incorporating hand-drawn elements, tattoo-like markings, and narrative inscriptions that transform their pieces into vessels of memory and meaning. Their collaborative works reinterpret mythological themes, while others merge human and natural forms into a seamless visual style. Their work exists somewhere in the space between art and design, where material and story, tradition and experiment, come together in a shared act of creation.
